Photos, Laundry, Sing-a-longs, and more!

While in Green Island, we were lucky enough to meet up with several boats we hadn't seen since Mexico. Slip Away (Jan and Rich) and Effie (Mac and Alan) have been in touch with us, but we haven't seen them in a long while. It was great to catch up and spend time together.

Slip Away, our sister ship is pictured above. She's had a brand new exterior job, so Fortuitous was feeling a little jealous.

Aboard Effie, we all had a sing-a-long. I've been practicing guitar so I could actually "play" along with Alan. He carried me, mostly, but it was tons of fun!
Here's the whole crew aboard Effie for the sing-a-long. Jan and Rich to the left, Homers centre, and Mac and Alan on the right.
On a less fun note, doing laundry at the local watering hole. The water isn't brackish, but I'd never use anything close to this colour if there was an option!!
Doesn't this look like fun!!

The sunset photos just can't be beaten!

One of the local fishermen with, finally, a decent sized fish.

We paid an extra couple of dollars for him to scale and filet...well worth the money!

Ralph took the kayak off for a spin. Just before he arrived back, we had a terrific rainstorm. Hard to tell here, but it couldn't rain any harder.

Doesn't he look like he's having fun! We collected a lot of water this day!

Greg enjoying the world's smallest banana!

Just bite sized!!

Fenders anyone?? It's hard to find a place for them all. We use some to protect the dinghy, while it's on the davits...the rest just hang around. We've lost at least one or two this season...that's expensive!

This is the famous Kuna bread, a semi-sweet bread. The beer can gives you some idea of the size. Not big enough for hot dogs...in fact, not big enough for anything, really!

We've had several bunches of bananas, over time. Most ripen all at once which is a bit of a problem unless you feel like 20 bananas in one day. One of these bunches can have up to 100 small bananas.

Greg borrowed 2 kayaks from Southern Belle to go kayaking with the kids aboard Hannah Day. They had a great time at Dog Island.

Greg says it was a fabulous snorkel, but we'll have to take his word for it as we haven't gone there yet.

Another shot with our now defunct underwater camera.

We had another sing-a-long aboard Southern Belle. This time Greg joined in too! What great fun!

A cruiser potluck on Green Island. We've met a lot of new cruisers this year. It's great to meet new people and we learn so much about where we are and where to go (or not go) by sharing stories.
