Photos, Kuna Yala February 2010

After Jeff and Sarah flew home, we were able to go more afield and stay longer in islands as we wished. Before they left, we wanted them to experience as much as they could, so we moved around a fair bit, but were limited to a short distance from Nargana, because they were flying out from there.

We had most of our good seafood feasts before Jeff and Sarah left, but we still had Kuna come along-side with their catch.

The crab are just huge and almost impossible to crack! Jeff cut his hand using vice grips during one of our crab-fests.

A Kuna sailor.
Incredible skill.

Our friend George, on Southern Belle, arranged a Superbowl party in Nargana. He is from New Orleans, and a huge Saints fan.

Greg had a great time, as you can see...even if most of the cruiser attendees are twice his age.

Federico is the local who is trying to clean up his island...well, sort of.

The party was well attended, as you can see. I'm sure this was one of the strangest venues for this game. It was hard to believe you were sitting in the middle of a Kuna village watching the Superbowl.

Greg having fun with the local kids.

His Spanish is improving, so he can have some fun.

George and Melinda...very happy Saints fans because their team actually won...first time ever in the Superbowl!

A quiet Kuna Yala morning.

The fishermen are up bright and early.

It was Marilyn's birthday (SV Icarian), so I painted a small picture for her and gave her a necklace and earrings as well. It was a great party.

Lynn, on Homers' Odyssey, and I made dinner and dessert. Here are the girls celebrating Marilyn's 39th!

A few more shots before our SECOND underwater camera packed it in!! Same problem, different camera!! @!$$%%^&&**(!!!

Greg enjoying the snorkelling.

A fishy, view of Kuna Yala.

The coral here are quite spectacular. Too bad we don't have an underwater camera anymore!!

These shots don't do it justice as we've seen far more colour than this.
