Manta Ecuador, June 2008

Immigration for Ecuador is in Manta so, off we went for the day to do that and a bit of provisioning. It was an interesting drive through the countryside. Here is a shot of an irrigation canal.
A happy little family!
As in all of Mexico and Central America, pickup trucks are the family buses!
We did, however, think it strange that all the young people were inside and this old couple were out back!
Just outside Manta there is wooden fishboat building. Amazing what they were doing with limited tools.
This must really be a dying art!
Lunch at the food stalls.
Lots of poverty here.
This is quite typical of some of the homes we saw on our drive.
