The Palmers visit Chile, Jan. 2013

We didn't have much company, this time around in Chile.  There really wasn't much to see in Chillan, and Ralph couldn't take much time off work to sight see in Santiago.  Luckily, our friends Ron and Heather were coming at a time, in January, when many people were off on holidays.  Ralph was able to arrange some meetings, in Santiago, which co-ordinated with their arrival in Valparaiso.

This is them looking out over Valparaiso harbour...for their cruise ship, below.

We saw all the usual sights, in Santiago, but a trip to Chile wouldn't be complete without a trip to at least one winery and vineyard.

We took them to Concha Y Toro...and what a great tour it was.  We'd been to several vineyards/wineries, when we lived in Chile in 2000 to 2002, but we'd not visited this one.

It was very attractive, as you can see.

Part of our tour took us into Casillero Del Diablo wine cellar.  It was very interesting and they did a wonderful presentation, in the dark, on the brick walls.

That's a whole lot of wine, folks!!

We took in their specialty wine tasting too.  I wasn't sure that we should do this, cause it cost quite a bit more...but it was very well done and excellent wine and cheeses.  We didn't even bother having lunch, after that!
